I rely on teachers
They get my mind working good
I stink at haikus
It may not seem like it, but I put about 15 minutes of thought into that last line. Though this may seem like a juvenile haiku written by a fifth grader, it is in fact very very deep! We all rely on teachers to get our mind working, because if I never had someone teach me anything I would still be trying to fit a square into a hole shaped like a triangle. Though you can infer by the last line that my teachers weren't all that good at teaching me, I wouldn't because I can be one lazy student (except in courses called 'Public Purposes of Education', I love that class!), and I think I just fell asleep on the day I was taught that. Oh how my addiction to late night programming haunts me!

I loved your haiku, totally funny and cute!!! i know how you feel about haiku..but you did a good job.
I think this Haiku was so appropriate despite its light funny approach you took on it. I think your absolutely right also, without teachers a lot of what I know now I might have never figured out. I am taking a philosophical course in education also, and we recently discussed the question, do teachers teach, or are they just helping us to dig deep inside ourselves and pull out information that we already know? Think about it!
I don't think you should put yourself down. I too think that haiku's are difficult. I learned them in fourth grade, and I was horrible at them just like I am now. It took me hours to think of something. A strategy I use is that I start off big, and try to get down to the simplest terms (kind of like reducing fractions! haha). THis of course, is after a lot of thinking. Overall, I do think that your haiku was good, your line on relying on teachers, I believe that to be true. Remember, poetry is up to the reader's interpretation.
